Munificent Banter

A trove of semi-useless rhetoric and/or random musings and exploits, with a mild amount of profanity just for good measure.

"Ambition. Ambition's a tricky thing..."

It's all Good.

An overall impressive showing at the 2005 NY State Championships for my guys. A trio of second places on a few events, a state champion on VT, and everyone made it to Regional Championships.

Now it's time for them to knuckle down and decide what they want to accomplish for the remainder of their season, and how they're going to do it. The opportunity for greatness presents itself again, which ones grab hold and hang on will remain to be seen.

Each have the potential, and I hope that each has the ambition to realize that.

Matt's ambitious take on 21st Century Living:

Ambition. Ambition's a tricky thing; it's like riding a unicycle over a dental floss tightrope over a wilderness of razor blades. Ambition can backfire. Ambition means more, ambition means faster ambition means better. What if you can super…can you supersize ambition? Does that make you ambitious if you supersize ambition?

Around here, our ambition hurts more than it helps. See around here, ambition throws a non-perishable item in a donation bin at Christmas, then pats itself on the fuckin' back because it thinks it's done something decent.

Yeah we're supersizing ambition.

Make no mistake about it. Ambition will televise the revolution, and it'll sell more fuckin' commercial spots than the Superbowl, the Olympics, the World Series, and the tragedy de jour combined.
