Level 5

Parallel Bars

The specified bonus, unless otherwise indicated, completely replaces the numbered skill/sequence directly above it.

  1. From stand or short run, long hang swing forward to 45° below horizontal (bent knees allowed)

    Performance Guidelines: The swing forward must be a tap swing, not a glide swing.

  2. Swing backward to upper arm hang to 45° below horizontal (bent knees allowed)
  3. Swing forward in upper arm hang to upperarm "cast" position

    Performance Guidelines: A momentary pause in the cast position is allowed.

  4. Cast forward to back uprise to support

    Performance Guidelines: The back uprise should finish with feet at bar height.

  5. Swing forward to horizontal, swing backward to horizontal
  6. Swing forward (body extended)
  7. Backward swing to 45° above horizontal

    Specified Bonus: Swing backward to handstand. Both arms must be straight when the body reaches a handstand.

  8. Swing forward (body extended)
  9. Swing backward to nominal handstand

    Specified Bonus: Swing backward to handstand. A 2 second hold is required.

  10. Push off to the side dismount

    Performance Guidelines: Either hand position can be used on the dismount.
