Compulsory Levels

Note: The Base Score is divided in half, making each routine worth 4.6.

Level 6

Pommel Horse

This event will be performed and evaluated on two separate apparatus, the mushroom and pommel horse. The routines may be performed in either order.

The specified bonus, unless otherwise indicated, completely replaces the numbered skill/sequence directly above it.

The routine below may be reversed in its entirety.

Performance Guidelines: For the entire exercise the cutting leg on all leg cuts should be at least horizontal, on all false scissors and scissors the top leg should be at least horizontal, and the gymnast's body should remain extended throughout loops.

  1. Facing the end of the horse, jump to one loop circle

    Performance Guidelines: The gymnast's feet must be together when they leave the floor.

    Specified Bonus: Facing the end of the horse, jump to two loop circles (same guidelines apply)

  2. Kehr in to rear support with left hand on the pommel
  3. Right leg cut backward, left leg cut backward
  4. Right leg cut forward, single leg travel to front support on the pommels
  5. Cut right leg forward to left front false scissor
  6. Cut right leg forward to left scissor
  7. Right front false scissor
  8. Cut left leg forward to right scissor
  9. Cut left leg forward, cut right leg backward, cut left leg backward
  10. Lift right leg to feint position on right pommel, ½ circle with 90° inward turn to left dismount to finish facing longitudinally with the horse.

    Specified Bonus: Lift right leg to feint position on right pommel to full circle to dismount landing facing the horse (the right hand must regrasp and show support before gymnast lands).

Mushroom

Note: The mushroom is divided into quadrants, the routine is written for clockwise circles, and the routine may be reversed in its entirety.

The body should show a stretched position throughout on all circles, and the legs should maintain a 90° separation on flair circles.

  1. Step to side and jump to one double leg circle
  2. One double leg circle
  3. One double leg circle
  4. Circle with a spindle (90° counter turn left) to front support

    Performance Guidelines: The spindle should be initiated with support on the right hand.

  5. Circle with a spindle (90° counter turn left) to front support

    Performance Guidelines: The spindle should be initiated with support on the right hand.

  6. One double leg circle
  7. Immediately straddle to one flair circle to front support
  8. One flair circle to support
  9. One double leg circle to front support
  10. Flank dismount
