Still Rings

The specified bonus, unless otherwise indicated, completely replaces the numbered skill/sequence directly above it.

Note: Bonus will be awarded for any inlocate or dislocate that shows the shoulders above rings. Awarded one time only, 0.2 in bonus.

  1. Lift body to straight body inverted hang
  2. Lower to pike inverted hang and cast forward to
  3. Straight body inlocate

  5. Back uprise to L-sit

    Performance Guidelines: The back uprise should finish with a straight body and feet at 45° below horizontal. The rings must be turned out on L-sit just beyond parallel for the entire 2 second duration of the L-sit.

  6. Press to tucked or straddled planche and return to L-sit

    Performance Guidelines: A momentary hold of planche (straight arms, hips lifted away from shoulders) is required before the return to the 2 second L-sit.

  7. From the L-sit, tuck, pike, or straddle, bent arm, bent body press to handstand position placing the feet against the inside of the straps as the handstand position is achieved. Hold the handstand with feet touching inside of straps for 3 seconds.

    Performance Guidelines: A 3 second hold of handstand, showing straight body position with straight arms and rings turned out with feet balancing on inside of straps is required. Bonus will be awarded if there is no single large error on the handstand and if there are no more than 0.5 in presentation deductions in the press to handstand. Presentation errors in the press will not be counted against exercise presentation, but errors in the handstand hold will.

    Specified Bonus: Pike or Straddle press as described above, then remove feet from straps and hold handstand 3 seconds without the straps (The gymnast may elect not to use cables on handstand).

  8. Straight leg, bent or straight body lower down to support, rotate backward to piked inverted hang and shoot to dislocate

    Performance Guidelines: A continuous rhythm is required. There should be no stops or hesitation at all.

  9. Dislocate

    Specified Bonus: See note above

  10. Swing to tucked or layout flyaway dismount. Any "B" value dismount is also allowed.

    Performance Guidelines: The somersault must be at ring height (bottom of ring) and the gymnast's hands must release prior to swinging thru vertical axis. No credit will be given for an angle of release at 90° past vertical or further.
